New Trumpet Concerto – Three Odes To Love

James is currently composing a new lyrical work for trumpet and string orchestra entitled Three Odes to Love.

The new work will be a triptych of three individual pieces, which can be performed individually or as a cohesive whole, and will focus on the true lyrical, expressive and reflective qualities of the trumpet as a contemporary solo instrument, incorporating beauty of sound, and supported by the myriad different textures of warmth and emotive depth of the string orchestra in an intoxicating and moving mixture of different guises as a contemporary representation of the English String tradition.
